Social Media Redesign

For my final capstone project at the University of Memphis, I re-envisioned the social media accounts for LSS. After talking to administration, we determined the following about the current system:

Note Not made in partnership with the school system. I used their input to create a separate case study for the sole purpose of my project.

Pros-

  • LES focuses on what’s going on in the classrooms

  • LPS has creative content

  • Overall good coverage of group successes

Cons-

  • Not taking advantage of each social platform

  • LSS just shares others’ content

  • Inconsistent themes

Using this information, I created social media strategies that focused on the pros, while changing the cons. This new system focuses on the family of LSS and helps foster transparency between parents and faculty. This is why I focused on meeting faculty and students through social media post, and seeing what goes on in the classroom.

Faculty Spotlight

Faculty Spotlight - These posts consist of photos of the facility members, some submitted and some taken in class, as well as a written piece learning about the faculty members, i.e. their interests, family, education, and why they teach.

Student Spotlight

Student Spot Light - These posts consist of photos of students. Some will be submitted and depended on the student, some will be taken. This post will have copy that dive into the students life to hobbies. These posts will alternate bi-weekly with athletic students and non athletic students.

In the Classroom

In the classroom - These posts will consist of photos of student activities typically in a classroom setting. It will also include copy that explains the photos, as well as explain how this experience can help benefit students and what happened during it.
